Better than Strawberries
Plump and luscious, these local strawberries are an early summer delight.

The best part about this “wildlife refuge” is that you can easily escape the walking paths and scuttle out onto these fantastic rocks, climb around and see what’s hiding in the cracks, left by the tide.






Wandering down a tiny path in the woods, I suddenly found myself on a quiet little beach alive with color and light.





Watching the garden flush with healthy leaves and blossoms, more beautifully and abundantly each summer, is one of my favorite pleasures.


These semi-public gardens are just beginning to fill with color and wild. They’re still flirting, playfully reserving their full release for June’s uncompromised sunshine.








The rainy weekend before Memorial Day. Tourists aren’t here yet and the beach parking lots are still empty. Even though summer hasn’t started yet, it already seems to be passing too quickly.
